Fire Force Sets Anime World On Fire With  Its Fantastic Animation The first episode of Fire Force has finally premiered after weeks of talk had been building up behind it. With a studio as famous as David Productions producing this anime, high expectations were there and waiting. Now that it is out, what can be said other than, "WOW!" The beginning of the episode opens with a scene that sets up the enemies that our main protagonist will be facing throughout the series and we also get our first glimpse at Fire Team 8 and what they are all capable of. Through a downright extraordinary scene of fantastic animation, we get to see the extent of what our main character Shinra is capable of. Throughout the episode we get flashbacks into Shinra's past and what has motivated him to get to where he is in the present. A terrible tragedy followed by a heinous misunderstanding has left him broken inside with a burning passion to avenge his mother and brother, whom

The Quintessential Quintuplets (Gotoubun no Hanayome) Chapter 88 Manga Review

The Yotsuba Arc Everyone Has Been Waiting For A new chapter of the manga dropped and it continues the long awaited Yotsuba arc that everyone has been waiting for, and so far, it hasn't disappointed. If anything this arc has brought Yotsuba up in ranking among fans as to who is the favorite of all of them.  In this chapter we get to see a flashback where young Yotsuba and yound Futaro are hanging out in the city after both of them got lost and having the time of their lives. The two of them hit it off and we get to see the reason for why Futaro grew up into the way he is in the present. It was all thanks to Yotsuba's inspiration that Futaro started studying so hard. It was a fantastic chapter that really delved into the mindset of Yotsuba. It also gave us the reason as to why the sisters ended up being so different from each other as they grew up. In this chapter we got to see Yotsuba being the first one to break out of being a twin after witnessing Futaro

Kaguya-sama: Love is War (Kaguya-sama wa Kokurasetai: Tensai-tachi no Renai Zunousen) Episode 11 Review

Kaguya-sama: The Heartfelt Rom-Com I've said this before and I'll say it again: Kaguya-sama: Love is War is my favorite anime of this season .The show is winding down to its conclusion and for this week we got to see another side to Kaguya's life.  Most of this weeks episode had the usual funny skits and moments throughout but this time we were able to get more of Kaguya's maid, Ai Hayasaka. We get to see her perspective on Kaguya's matters of love and advises her on what she should be doing even though Kaguya is too stubborn to listen. Hayasaka acts very much in place of the viewer, pointing out things that the viewer wishes they could just tell Kaguya and Shirogane. She's the voice of reason most of the time and it is very evident that she cares deeply for Kaguya's well-being with how much she puts up with Kaguya's nonsense at times.  The part that I want to discuss the most is the part that came after the ED. In this we get narration f

Rising of the Shield Hero (Tate no Yuusha no Nariagari) Episode 10 Review

Rising of the Shield Hero Episode 10 Review To start, I thought this episode was good. It set up some stuff that will be happening in the future as well as stuff that will happen next episode. We got some more of the other heroes and why they aren't as great as some episodes have made them out to be.   As we get one episode closer to the second wave we see our main characters preparing for the upcoming fight. Naofumi, Raphtalia, and Filo have all upgraded their gear and have obtained new party members for the waves due to their past good deeds during the first wave. We also got a little tease at one particular figure at the end of the episode of a character from the opening that I won't get into right now. Something I want to talk about right now are things I've noticed about the anime that seem different from the manga. Some things that I like and some things that I'm not a big fan of. First off, the biggest one to me, is the change in Filo. In the manga

Captain Marvel Review

Captain Marvel Review Brie Larson as Captain Marvel swept into theaters today and my head is still in overdrive as to where I should start with this movie. First off, my thoughts on it are this: it was a good movie, but had its share of flaws.  I will go into as much detail as I can without spoiling anything from the movie. One of the things that I had major concerns about for this movie was surprisingly Brie Larson's performance. From the trailers alone I was not fully convinced that she was a good pick for the role and the way she delivered her lines in those trailers caused a bit of concern in me. After watching around the first 20 minutes of the movie I was satisfied with her performance. I was worried that she couldn't portray Captain Marvel's personality and characteristics well but she managed to prove me wrong at almost every turn. I still think that there could have been a better selection for the role of Carol Danvers, but Brie Larson's Oscar pedigree r

The Quintessential Quintuplets Episode 1 - 9 Impressions

The Quintessential Quintuplets Impressions To start things off,   I really enjoyed binging this show to catch up to where it is currently.  Let me follow that by saying that I'm not really the type of person who is into anime genres like Harems and Ecchi. I've never enjoyed the over sexualization of characters for jokes and I can never seem to enjoy the character writing for Harems.  It honestly took me by a huge surprise as to how much I actually enjoyed watching this show. When I first saw this anime I didn't think much of it. It looked like a generic Ecchi Harem anime and I felt like, "Once you've seen one, you've seen them all." It was a combination of a bunch of different things that finally got me to sit down and watch this show: I started hearing a lot of good things about this anime from a lot of different sources. I saw the voice acting list for the characters on this show and realized the star studded seiyuu's that were

Kaguya-sama Wants To Be Confessed To: Love is War (Kaguya-sama wa Kokurasetai: Tensai-tachi no Renai Zunousen) Episode 5 Review

Image
Kaguya-sama: Love is War Episode 5 Review The only thing I can say about this anime at this point is: In a strong season of really good anime, this one might be my favorite.   With shows like Rising of the Shield Hero, Dororo, The Promised Neverland, Mob Psycho II, JoJo's Bizarre Adventure, and That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime, some might say I'm crazy for saying this show is my favorite. From the scores that I've seen other people post on this show I can see why most might overlook it.  The comedic moments in this show are always on point and the over-dramatization of the way the characters imagine certain events is pure hysteria. I find myself every episode laughing out loud at the situations that the characters always end up finding themselves in. The icing on the cake probably has to be the lovable and adorable Chika Fujiwara, who has risen the ranks of being one of the fan favorite female characters this anime season due to her amazing ED at the

The Promised Neverland (Yakusoku no Neverland) Episode 5 Review

The Promised Neverland Episode 5 Review The Promised Neverland has been one of my favorite anime this season so far. The writing is so great and the delivery of the tense moments have been amazing. I know people have categorized this show under horror  but to me it is more of a thriller . But now with that out of the way, lets get to this weeks episode. So after last weeks crazy cliff hanger of Ray being the traitor, we find out this week that Ray was actually playing both sides of the field. I really like this characterization of Ray. He's very much a character that is out for whatever benefits him the most and I like that about his character. I have never read the manga of this series and I have to fight the urge to go read ahead. I have liked the mystery and surprise factor that this show brings me every week. Back to the topic of Ray. I think with this new predicament that it adds a whole new fold into the dynamic of the group. The face animation for Ray when he w

The Rising of the Shield Hero Episode 5 Review This episode was so good. There were so many things that I liked about this episode so lets get into it.  So right off the bat I want to talk about one of the scene that we saw in the beginning of the episode. We get a shot of a woman being pampered and talking to a hooded figure outside her window. She is discussing the topic of the Shield Hero. From her looks and the way she speaks we can already tell that she is the Queen. As someone who is reading the manga, people have a lot to look forward to when it comes to the Queen.  I think that she is going to be a fast fan favorite and I'm excited to see how people react to her when she shows up. She's a very interesting character and that's about all I'll say to avoid spoiling anything. But just know that she is someone that should be looked forward to. For this episode we also got hints that Raphtalia has feelings for Naofumi. In the manga this was mo

That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime (Tensei Shitara Slime Datta Ken) Episode 18 Review

(image source: Funimation) That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime Episode 18 For this weeks episode of That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime, it was a somewhat slow episode but was used as a setup for next weeks (hopefully) epic fight with the Charybdis. Here's a quick summary: This week we saw the return of Phobio angered over the humiliation at the hands of the adorable Milim Nava. Clayman's minions trick him into becoming the vessel for the revival of the Charybdis, a legendary monster born from Veldora. On the other side of things, in the town of Rimuru, we see Treyni's sister show up to warn our lovable group of monsters about the impending doom that the Charybdis brings. All of this is to set up next week's episode for the battle against the Charybdis. Okay, so there is something that caught my attention at the end of this weeks episode. In the war room we get a conversation with Rimuru where he mentions the Demon Lord Leon Cromwell. This was
